How to teach a child read well in Chinese or English ? Some mummies asked me.. A daily reading routine, At least 30 mins on each time. After setting a reading routine then what must parents do ? will help a child concentrate on the book ? A technique of story telling..how to tell well on story to attract children focus on the book ? first,expressions, telling a story rich in characters and acting out the characters in the story. The reading time with parent is very very important,as a working parent no choice have to send children go phonics lesson, children have to learn technique from learning center, but parent need to spend at least 30min each day to polish it at home,involve in their leaning journey. Since S was 1, I have been reading story books to her every night..mummy always act like a mad women when come to story time, having fun with her, crazy time with her, giving her the impression reading is not her study or learning time! reading is a playing time with her. S likes read...

This past 2 weeks, I focus more on Chinese learning with Sabrina at home..other than words recognise and also HYPY. realized, Sabrina likes chinese...谜语，谚语.. Sabrina Chinese getting stronger,, now she could reads the subtitle for me,when I watching Korean movies on the computer. Hopefully, she is well prepare for her P1 in 4 months time.

I brought this homework book is to practice her Chinese characters hand writing skill. I realise I did not give much time on Chinese writing. Good point on this book is they are no HYPY on the book. That could give her more chance to learn Chinese character and how to form a sentences. This book is for primary 3. but so far Sabrina handle well on her reading and understand part. I just need to guiding on a few words. First try, I have explaining words meaning on the box and she will try to fill in. now she actually could do without my explaination.cheers Lower part of this homework , content some " fill in the suitable sentences" which I think is very good for me to train Sabrina on sentences.

Sabrina's likes chinese story books too.Sometimes I ask her " Do u understand what 's the stories about". she always said " Yes". but I think not every word that she know.Now,she also doesn't want me to read to her . she said " I'm too slow". she has no patience to wait for me to explaint word by word. I Want her to read more books with no HYPY ..

After lunch, She has about 30min to 45min reading times in the afternoon Out of sudden, She bring out this book and starting to read it loudly. and I was so surprise and asked her whether her need help from me or not ? or I can read it to her..but she told me "No need, mummy I can understand.. I brought this book from City Square JB, a few month ago, never been tough it before.I thought this book will be a white elephant for me.As I from Chinese education background, I hope Sabrina one day could reads Chinese long novels on her own. She could read about 95% of the words .. she only need my help on words like 铺 ，倚， 挪，腾，舀，瓷。。 She has enjoy reading it. As she could read any books with HYPY ,even mummy also need help from her on HYPY. She even told me that she likes Chinese story books than English. Her words of recognize also very strong.. sometimes she will be a 小老师 in school read to class.

I happened to found this book from Yishun Library, one of the book can get from 当当 website.I had read 小猫皮皮 with Sabrina early in the morning when she was awake , She had enjoyed the story very much.The story is about... 故事的主人公小猫皮皮总想改变自己，在它眼里，做威风凛凛的大公鸡、做和善温顺的山羊……都比做小猫有趣。看，它学公鸡走路、啄食、喔喔啼，还装上犄角、挂上铃铛，像模像样地当了会儿山羊……不过，它也因此吃了些苦头，还尝到了黑暗、孤独、恐惧……皮皮的变身创意源自于小朋友们真实的内心感受，刚刚认识自我和周围事物的孩子们都会经常有这样的幻想：要做些跟一般人不同的事情。他们像皮皮一样，好奇地观察，无拘无柬地想象，然后还充满热情地去尝试，也不可避免地遇到些意外和挫折。这看似天真幼稚，其实正是孩子们认识多彩世界、认识自我的一个过程，而且，也只有他们的童心和想象才具有如此的活力和情趣。在与小读者沟通心灵的同时，这部作品也传递出一个道理：每个人、每种事物都有自己的特色，做好我们自己真的是件不错的事情！

I went JB last week. I had brought a few Chinese story books from popular City Square. Is suitable for age 3-7. The words are big and easy to read.I will like to let Sabrina read more books with no HYPY. And with nice picture, Sabrina like it very much. She is able to read it almost the whole book ,but still have some more difficult words like 鼹 [yǎn],郁金香 [yùjīnxiāng] that she is don know how to read. I also brought a book about 古诗, hope that she will interested in classical poetry. with the picture , she could easily memorize it.

I continual to teach Sabrina 成語, My Target is 100个成語. We had finished 12. then i ask her .. 100个成語 we had learned 12, how many 成語left ? I teaching her use imagination skills 心算 Image the number 100 infront of you, then below is 12. use the last digit minus last digit , then I will ask her which number will minus which number ? I will continuel to ask question till .... She could gave it right is 88. This kind of learning way will improved on her thinking cap, and let her brain work faster. :)

During our chinese story time, we will read one or two 成語 in every story. I normally will highlight out to Sabrina and also explain it what is 成語 and the meaning of the 成語. 成語a type of traditional Chinese idiomatic expressions, most of which consist of four characters; Recently i have find that Sabrina Chinese reading is quite strong compare it with last year.She could read many story without any helping from HYPY. So I decide to teach her about 成語. Yesterday I brought a book " 学習成語 " from 2nd book store just only $3.90. Every ChengYu There will be one story to explain it. I find that is very good. Sabrina could learn some difficult words in this story book, that will make her chinese get stronger. I had started this yesterday. I have writing out the ChengYu on the Mahjong paper. I wish all this early learning will help her in future study.

I brought 10 chinese story books from 2nd book store, each book cost only $1. Sabrina like all the books very much, especially is 闹闹的故事. 宁恩非常喜欢阅读闹闹的故事,因为闹闹是一个很会闹又貪吃的孩子.故事内容精采.故事引起孩子们的共呜与讣同感.There are 5 books in total but I manage gave only 4 books. There are :闹闹上学了,闹闹过新年,闹闹的教训 和 白老师生病了.The book missing is 闹闹长大了 Sabrina has asked me to find the book for her. So far i have not see this book from any book store. All the books is without Hanyu Pinyin,that help Sabrina to learn recognise the words.

Sabrina has never reads Chinese stories book by herself. All the books will have to wait for Mummy to read an tell the stories. But today I have find out,she need not me read to her anymore. She can read independently on her own even tho books without HanYu Pinyin. She can recognise a lot of chinese Characters. One day, She using a words 一溜烟 and 酷呆了. Mummy 一溜烟 跑掉了. and also Daddy 酷呆了. As she able to her chinese workbook independently by reading the instruction. Today we have a fun way to write our Chinese Characters. The games is made out the Chinese characters by using strings. So surprise ,she actually do it very well without help from mummy.

Mummy has brought some stories from Kinokuniya at KLCC each book cost RM 7.90 if convert it to S$ just $3.00 only is worth to buy. especially 幼儿文学60年经典. I have find this 幼儿文学60年经典 at Bras basah one of the shop at 3 level . Is selling all the stories together in one book cost S$10.45. I think is a very good book for age 5 to 6 to read.

This story book is suitable for children age 5 to 6. This story is to teach children about re-used the old clothes and always satisfied what we have. A lot of time in our cabinet and drawer is full of our old clothes,but when we see other people wearing it the beautiful dress , you also want a new piece but you never think actually you also have a same one in your cabinet. Sabrina like this book very much because the story is just like a magic show.. from the old shoes changing in a new shoes.
