Sabrina did well on her creative writing and her grammar this few weeks.... Teacher mention before about her mood swing during the lesson after our Chinese New Year in Malaysia. Now her standard come back again... She did very well on her last week mini test. They was given by one passage reading for 20min.They need to write out the short passage after 20min. Sabrina make only one mistake on "rushed" instead of "dashed" will phonics help, she could easily spell out all the words.. According to teacher, her speed of writing still slow... but got improvement :) Even her 2 grammar test also gave 7/7 and 9/10.Good job for my little girl.

She has a test on creative writing after school holiday. She has given by 2 compo to recite and memories it for the test. Last few day, I have let her practise on her writing.. oh no she writing was very messy. she was still thinking about playing / holiday times. This morning after shower. I'm asking her to write out the compo Title "A Day At The Zoo" . she was doing it fast within 20min and her words was neat. She won a wonderful "KISS" from me.She has never ask me for the spelling..I am feel glad that I have start her on phonics at the early age. The power of "Phonics" help her on words spelling. Look, her writing was very neat and clear. To reward her.. we promise to bring her to beach and play sand.

Sabrina's sleep till morning 10.30am. 12.00pm, I had brought her to camper again to pack our things back. She has join in for lunch, but she was refused to join the program. Even thot, we have told her have water flighting games. no choice, We went home after 20min there. 2pm, Sabrina went to bed... She sleep till 7pm.. I think she must used up all her energy. The End

10.00am, I saw some children was helping to filling air to this playground . Sabrina was in the creative writing lesson. I left after 5 min. During lunch time, I went up to see her again.She looks very tired today and I asked her whether she has a good sleep yesterday ? She told me, she couldn't sleep last night, she was keep wake up when she hear some noise. I also had a talk with her friend there, them told me "Sabrina keep walking to her place". One of the teacher told me ,morning she cried because she was happily following all the big jiejie go to bath room and everyone went bathing. She just realized she can't hang the clothes because the hook is too high for her to reach. Sabrina told me, she actually cried 2 times. one is on bathing time and another is during the English creative writing lesson, she had forgot the phases. I left with worries..because I scare she can not take it. 6.00pm, I went to see her again. I feel sad. when i saw her carry a plate don't...

12.00pm I am preparing to send Sabrina go in camper from Heart of God Church (W.O.A.H CAMP!)by TAS.located at Singapore Post Building, We need to report by 2.30pm. Sabrina is ready to go... Sabrina was very excited about the camper, She was full of confidence that she could do it (staying for 3 days 2 nights) and she was able take care by herself. 2pm,we are in the same lift with many children, they are one by one was carrying their own sleeping bag.I was told Sabrina, they are all going to camper just like you. Sabrina actually very curious about them keep looking at them. Hello ! everyone I here to report in. We are report as a 1st timer. . TAS had a lesson" spelling bees" on Friday at 4.30pm at Yishun branch,to help children on the spelling,I decided to brought Sabrina for the lesson to give her a try. When I reached there,i had found out the program will end at 7pm,because after spelling bees, they will continual the church program kind of character-team building. I actually a bit worry about Sabrina ...whether she is fine with the long hour program in there ? total will be 2 and a half hour. During the long waiting time, I went to rebound my hair at one of the shop nearby. After the whole thing end, I have check with Sabrina how is the program and whether next week she would want to came again the class ? "Yes" Sabrina answered, She had review the program to me... She has lose voice because" who's can screams the loudest" who will win the prize. They will learnt the spelling bees from the small booklet pages 2 till Number 7, they have playing catching games... she had been catches many...

Sabrina with TAS almost a month.. her hand writing getting strong. She could write faster now. The words also nicer and neat. Today, She was practise her spelling And A compo writing about "It was a windy day" She use 10min to memories it and 15min to write it down.....without refering to the list. Superb right.

Grammar-Tenses (Continuous tense)- Used when an action is taking place at the time of speaking. Formed with 'am/is/are/was/were' (verb)ing. Notes will explaining about 1)No change in verb -bear (bearing), 2)Removing the last"e"-Awake (Awaking) 3)Repeating the last letter-"Cut (Cutting) Sabrina , she has never learn removing "e" and repeating the last letter before so she got it wrong on all the removing and repeating quesions. Grammar-Simple Present Tense example : 1)Jack rides a bicycle to school every day . 2) Cows give us milk Sabrina good in the part. she got 14/15 and 12/13. (All the worksheets would done it during the lesson) Possessive Pronoons notes His,Hers,Yours,Ours,Theirs,Its and Mine -Pronouns which indicates ownership or possession -The possession pronoun is acting as the subject o the sentence After the explanation from the teacher, Sabrina got it all correct.

Today, Sabrina had spelling test of the topic "I am very excited" She does not refer to any document and she was doing a great job. She got 5/5 marks. And TAS also give them a list of the words.. give them 5 to 10 min to learn. They was tested the spelling on the spot. Phonics is important in their study. A child with phonics trained she could learn the spelling without any stress, and they could learn the spelling in a short time.

TAS also teaches grammar every Saturday. So far Sabrina had learned Articles - A, An or the They will given out a notes for them to read , follow by teacher explanation, they will teach children to underline the word they need to take note and the worksheet to do on the spot. They give a examples An: Vowels (a,e,i,o,u) 1) An aeroplane, Exceptions : 1) An Hour (Silent 'h') A: Consonants (Non-vowels) 1) A ball, Exceptions : A unicorn/university/uniform , A Eurasian/European ('u','eu' pronounced as 'you') The : Specific items/places 1) The shortest girl (not just any girl) Grammar : Conjuctions. and , or Sabrina was great in the part, She gave full marks 10/10 and a star. Grammar :Is, Are (present tense) Was and Were ( Past tense) Sabrina is poor in this part, She only able to gave 5/10 or 9/15. I find that she always make careless mistake. She does not read it carefully and patiently while she was doing the worksheets. The important part child need to know...

So far, ,Sabrina does not has spelling before even in K1. Last week, after the creative writing lesson. I take a look of her homework. One of them is written as "Spelling ". Actually ,Is a Phrases that to help in writing a compo.. 1) It was a sunny day- There are 10 points in total. (10 sentences). wow.. their spelling is not a single word.."IS a whole sentences". One thing, I like the most is the way how the TAS describe the compo..their use a very beautiful words like " The sun shone fiercely the sky"." The sun beat down mercilessly on me." "The sun shimmered glaringly in the sky"," I was scorched by the heat". I felt like I was in the desert. It was so bright that I had to cover my eyes with my hands. Trickles of perspiration dripped down from my forehead. My shirt was soaked with sweat. It was so hot that all I wanted to do was to get out of the the heat. Heat danced in waves before me as I walked home. I had let her ...

When I was stepped in the class, teacher was told me, they had compo tested just now and Sabrina, she had did it very well. Food Compo, she had wrote it all by herself. All teachers was very impressed. She could spells all the words by herself. She had got 8/10 marks. A child has a good function in phonics, she could or read the words easily by using the phonics skills. She do not need to practising the spelling by writing it many time. She could spell the word easily by listening the phonics sounds. I gave her a kiss immediately after talking to the teacher. Sabrina also very happy of her own achievement.

Today is 2ND lesson for creative writing. Sabrina cry during the lesson. She had told me because teachers say can not refer to Compo phrases was given by 1st lesson. She actually suddenly feel stress because she said she had forgot the story and she don know how to start the writing. Teacher told her that is OK and let her refer to the phrases. The Teacher said first few lesson children will feel the stress because of suddenly change of environment. I hope she could overcame and start the journey.

Sabrina had English Creative Writing free trial lesson from 9.30am to 11.30am. The class was about 6/7 students with 2 teachers. One teacher will teach and another will helping up on student are new or students are can not follow. Sabrina was the younger in the class. Title of Compo-Food First the teacher will read and action, after that asked all students to join in. after read and action. They have to write out the sentences. Teacher comments that Sabrina writing skill just a bit slow. After the compo, they was give a notes Grammar . Articles-A/An/The. and also some worksheet to do. She got 10/10 But I think Sabrina still not very should about how to use "An" She got 2 questions wrong all about the "An" Basically, Sabrina was fine with Grammar, Sabrina told me that She like the english class. we need to leave about 10min early because we need rushing to swimming lesson at Safra but we took the wrong bus 804 to central. The time was about 11.50am. we decide not to ...

After the assessment creative writing done on Saturday.I want Sabrina to memorize the essays that she had read. Hope this journey will help her in creative writing that one day she could write well.

We went The Alternative Story, Yishun branch for Creative Writing Assessment for Sabrina. a) First test on the essay 1) Teacher's will read the essay with action and also to do explanation of the words. 2) follow by some picture help to remember the essay. 3) covered up the essay. Sabrina will has to say out the essay with helping from the picture, I could said She is doing great. b) Second test on the Gammars (past tense and present tense) She gave 5/10 questions. The teacher said she could join in the class on saturday 9.30am to 1130am. The problem Sabrina has a swimming lesson on saturday at 11.30am at Yishun Safra. If we own a car that should not be a problem because the place actually is quite near to the Safra swimming pool just about 2 bus stops. if we are taking public transportation will need about 15 to 20min. We will go for trial class on next Saturday. We will sign up her for weekday class.

I need to work something for Sabrina on English learning. So I get this book This book consists of 40 model essays. In order to help Sabrina on write effectively. This book gives Sabrina the opportunity to study model essays, to learn new words through the Vocabulary Builder and also to stimulate their critical thinking via the Mind Teaser. All the essays is about the students encounters, experiences and imagination. I hope will learn to perceive life from different perspectives and simultaneously improve their writing skill. She should read widely to build the vocabulary. So far, Her reading skills and understanding is good,creative writing skill still need to be improve. Recently I had been searching for the creative writing lesson for her but all the learning central is only accept student for P1. Hope this learning journey will help her when she starting her Primary school in 2012.
