Bras Basah+Met Chen Yuyun at National Library

I had been tried to get this " Alfred's All-in-One Book 2" but no way to be found,Luckily, I had found Tempest Music.Blk 231 Bain Street #03-27,Bras Basah Complex,Tel: 63366518,Email: info@tempestmusic.com.sg

I let Sabrina alone stayed in National Library then I just go over the next block
Bras Basah Complex to collect the piano book, but when I back , I saw Sabrina sit beside Evelyn Tan (Chen Yuyun). She was enjoying Chen Yuyun story telling with her son. Sabrina said Chen Yuyun tell very nice story :)
She went with her 3 kids and her maids. Her younger son was very friendly to Sabrina.

Evelyn Tan, asked whether Sabrina can read by herself or not, After I let her know about Sabrina amazing progress. She encouraging me to let Sabrina home schooling, which I need to employ professional to teach Sabrina at home.oh no. I got no budget for that. We currently straggling with our financial. May stop Sabrina for Creative writing :(
After that,Sabrina has water play at Bugis Junction infront of BHG water fountain.

Is drizzling, no one play except Sabrina.

  2. Yes, u are right ! Currently , I also teaching my girl at home too . But I know my knowledge is limit to grown her in more advance . Like , I know my girl she could learn very fast in difference of language. But I can't teach :) I can teach a basic but I can't go into detail . This is the reason . If I be more education person maybe I can do it. I know my limit , and my English is not good :)

  5. Hah, yes, I'm singaporean. I am quite familiar with the system. My kids are in JC, Sec 2, Pri 6 and N1. My 2yo can read english & chinese fairly well already. So I put him in a mixed-aged kindergarten so that he will learn according to his ability and not age.

  6. Oh. Sec 2 , U have such big child already.

  7. Eh, I said my eldest is in JC1 now. You only picked up on my sec 2? *hehe* Kindergarten is montessori-style. All the children from 2 to 6 years old are all in one "class". So they do their own stuff according to their ability and interest. I guess you should be familiar with Montessori - can do search on internet on this. Many Montessori preschools in Singapore, altho' not many are "pure" montessori.

  11. Hi i do not encourage homeschooling for one thing. As I feel that somehow kids need to mingle around with one another to learn. Homeschooling kids may be lacking of the social skills, and not be able to adapt to the school environment. For another, as what you said, parents are not "know all" type. They may lack of chinese language skills, or english skills, so kids may be good in one area but lacking in another. Third, for what I observed, those kids from home schooling usually do not perform well in schools...

Just some personal opinion. Amazing girl, your girl is fantastic, she is progressing at a very fast pace. You may want to consider sending her to a proper school for her to learn all the essential things needed for primary school. I agree, she is doing far more better than other kids who attend school, but still, she may need some other skills like social skills, how to share things with others, how to communicate with peers etc.

Just some personal thoughts. But I still take my stand, home schooling may not necessary be good.

  12. Hmm... altho "kkf", I do know homeschoolers who do very well. And their attitude is positive. Well-mannered too. And they did do very well at PSLE.

  13. yes, but they are only minority, and usually, they will have difficulty blending well in the classroom environment, and interacting with peers.

Unless, their parents send them to lots of other enrichments to mingle around with other kids.

Playing with cousins is totally different from playing and mingling around with strangers (kids you do not know).

  14. Actually must also depend on individual child .. There are no 100% of which one is better for the child . So no point discuss here :)
